Giving and Receiving Feedback

Giving and Receiving Feedback

One of the key skills of a good leader is their ability to receive feedback as well as to give it. Good leaders and managers do not shy away from either giving or receiving feedback and this individual coaching experience is for leaders and managers who wish to develop their skills in giving and receiving feedback. Clear, objective and honest feedback can have an amazing impact on the recipient, even if it is developmental feedback, so developing your skills and ability in this area will benefit both you and your colleagues and team members. The impact on performance of good feedback, given well, can be amazing. Anyone who is serious about becoming a better leader or manager will benefit from this coaching experience.

At the end of the coaching activity you will be able to:

  • Use a range of techniques to give effective and positive feedback (even when the feedback requires an improvement)
  • Receive feedback positively and objectively (even when the feedback is developmental)
  • Use both verbal and non-verbal behaviour to indicate an opennes to receiving feedback.

In order for you to get the most from this coaching experience, you will be asked to honestly evaluate your own approach to feedback, so that you can keep doing what you do well and improve and develop in the aspects of feedback that do not come naturally.
